Many thanks to Pulse Design Group & JE Dunn Construction for commissioning #architecturalphotography of the beautiful KVC Behavioral Health Center in Wichita, Ks. Shelby Frye was the lead designer on this project and it is simply stunning! I love the colorful spaces and how they flow so well visually, and both clients’ project teams have given such great feedback on the collection I created for them.
Creating interior images such as these requires skilled processing as each is a composite of a minimum of 3 images: natural light, flash, and the outdoor view. There were also strong color casts on the ceilings that had to be repaired in nearly every shot.
For most exterior images I used my 24′ tripod to get a higher vantage point and operated my camera remotely via iPad using the #camranger and motorized tripod head. Getting up off the ground is a complete #gamechanger in conveying the power and presence of buildings, and the end result is like a drone photo, without the drone!
I also had 2 other shoots that week in Wichita for JE Dunn & Enterprise Precast Concrete, so it was a busy week making the most of my time there, and I will be showcasing those soon, too!
