901 Locust, KCMO

CBRE has been an ongoing client for nearly 4 years, and I love working with them. When they contacted me in November 2018, we did a walk through and determined an image list so that I was able to provide a specific bid based on their needs.

In May 2019 I completed the exterior and interior photography and everyone is thrilled with the results: my client, her boss and his boss!

The Dawn Shot

The above Dawn shot was very important to my client, and it happens to be my new favorite image of 2019! They had all the lights on for me when I arrived at 5:30 a.m.. I set up my 24′ tripod on the corner in front of the federal courthouse and began to capture numerous images via iPad. What I was most looking for was that beautiful glow and a properly exposed building. Ultimately, I knew the image would be more idyllic with a new sky, so later in post I found the perfect sunrise sky and popped it in there. #skyswap

As for interior image collections, most images are composites of natural light, flash and the view outdoors. An example is below the gallery of favorite images; my client commissioned 23 images total.

Insight on the creation of the Board Room Image

Creating the Board Room image required capturing 3 exposures: flash, natural light and the view. I used the flash image as my main image and airbrushed light amounts of natural light onto the flash image, then “cut out” the windows to place the properly exposed view. I also darkened the TVs with a gradient effect. To me, I thought it looked better cropped in slightly, and I also liked it square, so I supplied my client with all 3 versions so they had some flexibility of usage.
